St Helens Theatre Royal is celebrating its most successful ever pantomime – oh yes, it is!
Pop legend Maureen Nolan and Coronation Street’s Emrhys Cooper led a stellar cast in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs which welcomed more than 40,000 theatregoers over its six-week seasonal run.
The fantastic festive figure is 2,500 higher than the same time last year and cements Snow White as St Helens’ biggest and best panto production to date.
Maureen and Emrhys were joined by a brilliant line-up of talent including panto royalty Leanne Campbell, who appeared digitally as the Magic Mirror, talented newcomer Chantelle Morgan as Snow White and St Helens’ favourites Lewis Devine as Muddles and Richard Aucott as Nurse Nelly.
Regal Entertainments Ltd, which stages the hugely popular seasonal shows at the theatre, also enlisted the help of some very special local legends to voice the roles of the Dwarfs – with the magnificent seven comprised of Johnny Vegas, Joel Ross, Pete Price, Philip Regan (Queen of Scotty Road), Craig Phillips, Louis Emerick and John May.
And the cast were joined by a superb supporting company of future West End stars from Nazene Danielle’s School of Dance – Dance Dynamix.
Regal Entertainments Ltd has been bringing top quality and star-studded productions to the North-West for more than 20 years. It is run by the theatrical powerhouse mother and daughter duo of Jane Joseph and Chantelle Nolan who produce top quality drama, comedy and panto productions which continue to break box office records.
It produces four pantomimes – at Easter, Christmas and in the February and October half term holidays, with tens of thousands of theatregoers enjoying the fantastic family-friendly fun each year.
Panto director and St Helens Theatre Manager Chantelle Nolan said today: “Snow White really has proved to be the fairest of them all! We’re absolutely thrilled our Christmas panto was so popular with St Helens audiences over Christmas and New Year – welcoming and entertaining more than 40,000 people over the six-week run was amazing, and I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who came.
“I also want to thank our wonderful cast and crew, along with our brilliant and hardworking front-of-house team. Together they work tirelessly to make Christmas at St Helens Theatre Royal a truly special and magical time.
“Seeing the joy on people’s faces and hearing their laughter is a fantastic feeling and is exactly why we work so hard to give our audiences young and old the best experience possible.”
