The Butterfly House 18 - 27 July Dear Friends & Supporters Priority Booking Period for Friends Now Open We are delighted to now be able to invite Friends of Clonter to book tickets The Butterfly House in July. As you may recall from our previous updates, we have reintroduced the priority booking periods for Patrons and Friends of Clonter (2 weeks priority for Patrons / 1 week priority for Friends). If you are not already a Friend, and you would welcome being able to take advantage of this benefit, it is not too late to become one. Click here for further information. The priority booking period for Friends will end on Fri 15 March. Non-Friends of Clonter may book online or by phone after this date. Clonter has commissioned a new play about the life of Giacomo Puccini, with music from six of his best loved operas: Tosca, Madame Butterfly, La Bohème, La Rondine, Gianni Schicchi and Turandot, including the famous arias, Nessun dorma and O mio babbino caro. The perfect introduction for newcomers and opera lovers alike. This new drama takes us on a fast-paced roller-coaster journey through Puccini's life, with his unashamedly romantic and dramatic music, reflecting the emotions he both experienced and provoked. Puccini famously said of himself: "I am a mighty hunter of wildfowl, opera librettos and beautiful women" "On the day I am no longer in love you can hold my funeral" "I love small things and the only music I can or will make is that of small things … so long as they are true and full of passion and humanity and touch the heart." All the arias and duets will be sung in Italian with English surtitles and all dialogue spoken in English. Recommended for ages 14+ Trigger Warning This production includes references to suicide and infidelity, with a scene of physical violence and death. This production will also contain flashing lights.
