Noises Off
at The Lowry

If you have
not booked to see Noises Off at the Lowry yet, I urge you to do so as soon as
possible because it’s only here until Saturday. We are all in need of a good
laugh these days and that’s exactly what you’ll get watching Michael Frayne’s
multi-award winning comedy.
It affords
an insight into what actors experience nightly while they are performing not only
on stage - but backstage as they await their cues - or miss them as the case may
be. So two plays - for the price of one! There’s also a starry cast to match
Frayne’s cutting wit.
Our very own
Matthew Kelly plays drunken Selsdon Mowbray, (The Olivier award winner Of Mice and Men. While in London: Waiting for Godot, Comedians, Troilus and Cressida.) Liza Goddard plays housekeeper Dotty Otley. Her television and theatre credits include (Life of Riley, Communicating Doors, Season’s Greetings,
Relatively Speaking.) Simon Shepherd plays womanising Lloyd Dallas, who nightly falls down many stairs! His previous credits include several films as well as (Peak Practice, Posh, The Duck House, Rapture, Art and Hay Fever.) While there are strong performances from Lucy Robinson, Dan Fredenburgh and Simon Coates. Indeed the entire
stalwart cast work their socks off.Michael
Frayne’s excellent production is directed by Lindsay Posner with design by
Simon Higlett, lighting by Paul Pyant, and sound by Gregory Clarke. Judging by the gales of laughter and applause throughout, this
production is worth every penny of the ticket price. So give yourself a treat or you’ll miss out!
It's at The Lowry until October 21st.
