AUTHOR EVENT
Prize-winning author and Guardian natural history writer Patrick Barkham is a passionate and entertaining speaker and a really lovely person! He'll be talking about his new book The Swimmer: The Wild Life of Roger Deakin
AN EVENING WITH PATRICK BARKHAM
Thurs 28th Sept  |  7pm  |   £10
(£5 redeemable against a copy of The Swimmer)

Patrick will be talking about his new biography of Roger Deakin – best known for frog-kicking the wild swimming movement into existence and for his classic of nature writing Waterlog.

Roger Deakin was both a dazzling writer and a truly eccentric Englishman – variously (and at times simultaneously) a maverick ad-man, seller of striped pine furniture, cider-maker, teacher, environmentalist and filmmaker. Above all he wrote about nature with rare attention, precision and poetry.

Patrick's new book draws on notebooks, diaries and letters to conjure an intimate portrait of a glorious life!
