Priority Booking Period for Friends Now Open


We are delighted to now be able to invite Friends of Clonter to book tickets for the events below.


Not Too Late to Become a Friend


As you may recall from our previous updates, we have reintroduced the priority booking periods for Patrons and Friends of Clonter (2 weeks priority for Patrons / 1 week priority for Friends). If you are not already a Friend, and you would welcome being able to take advantage of this benefit, it is not too late to become one. Click here for further information.


The priority booking period for Friends will end on Wed 14 December. Non-Friends of Clonter may book online or by phone after this date.

Chamber Music @ Clonter – The Gould Piano Trio & Robert Plane

Sat 21 January, 3pm


Robert Plane and the Gould Trio have been giving concerts, recording and touring together for thirty years.


They were initially brought together in performances of Messiaen’s monumental Quartet for the End of Time, a work of extraordinary power, luminous beauty and spiritual enrichment. They’ve given countless performances over the years, particularly in 2008, the centenary of Messiaen’s birth, when they also made their CD recording for Chandos, hailed by BBC Music Magazine as the ‘finest modern recording’ of this epic masterpiece, and garnering acclaim across the press.

Opera Prize

Sat 4 February, 7pm


Contestants nominated by the UK’s leading conservatoires, compete for a prize before a distinguished panel of judges. The audience collectively act as one judge.


This event is perfect for anyone who is either interested in spotting emerging talent, and enjoys following singers’ careers, or for an opera novice, who would like to dip their toe in the operatic water, getting a taster from a wide range of operas, before committing to a whole one.

Chamber Music @ Clonter – Piatti String Ensemble & Simon Callaghan

Sat 25 February, 3pm


The Piatti Ensemble is an exciting mix of the founding members of the Piatti Quartet with one of the foremost pianists in the UK, Simon Callaghan. They are amalgamating their wealth of experience in performance and in the recording studio to discover, record and promote not only the more renowned works for string ensemble and piano, but also neglected gems of the repertoire.

Tea with... Songs from the Shows

Wed 8 March, 3pm


This increasingly popular Clonter event consists of traditional afternoon tea, preceded by an hour of musical entertainment, presented by two singers and a pianist, under the swagged red organza and brass chandelier, banqueting style in the intimacy of the Ramsey Room at Clonter.


Clonter also offers a ‘relaxed’ performance* – On Tuesday 7th March – which was introduced to offer people in care homes, or for those being cared for at home, and their carers, something to go to together during the day. This opportunity has also been extended to those with other disabilities.

Klezmer-ish

Sat 18 March, 7.30pm


Meet Klezmer-ish, four incredibly outward-looking classically trained musicians who met whilst playing with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. From rip-roaring klezmer and dynamic tango to their self-penned gypsy jazz, Klezmer-ish bring a trademark twist to whatever genre takes their fancy. Drawing inspiration from the music of bygone travellers, Klezmer-ish take their audience on a seamless musical journey, always on the move.
