It's summer! And we're about to launch our eco-friendly mobile theatre, THE DEN at the Ukrainian Cultural Centre in Cheetham Hill. For two weeks this unique pop-up theatre will host a range of exciting events from family fun-days to community shows, theatre, dance and art. Tom escapes a suffocating home life through cigarettes and long visits to the movies while his sister, Laura, withdraws into her records and collection of glass animals. But their mother, Amanda, harbours dreams for them far beyond their shabby apartment. When Tom brings home a potential suitor for Laura, Amanda seizes the opportunity to change their fortunes. As part of one of the UK's most exciting producing theatres, Young Company members will gain in-depth training and practical opportunities, helping them to develop and grow as artists. Find out more below about the kind of projects our Young Company create.  On Tuesday 8 June our building was buzzing with people coming to see our Young Company production SORRY WE'RE CLOSED, Performed by Young Company Performers, directed by Young Company Makers, who have also led on costume & set design, sound & lighting, and stage management.  Part performance, part installation, part disruption - the Royal Exchange Theatre’s Great Hall was brought to life by the Young Company Writers. It was sensational and these images bring us right back to the incredible performances.
