Clara Darcy is fit! She’s also (almost) care-free, (kind of) happily single and joyously dancing through life. Little does she know her world is about to be turned upside down thanks to the arrival of a fist-sized tumour - slap-bang in the middle of her head. This is her survival story.
Coliseum audiences will know Clara from her performances in our hit productions of Forever Young, Brassed Off and Chicago. This is her true story: a celebration of life from someone who has been to the very edge of it.
Almost everyone will be affected by cancer in their lifetime; whether personally or via a loved one. Following her groundbreaking and lifesaving treatment, Clara teams up with with Coronation Street writer, 2022 BAFTA Award winner and fellow Coliseum favourite Ian Kershaw (The Greatest Play in the History of the World, Star-Cross'd, The Mist In The Mirror, Bread & Roses) to share the unexpected joy she found in her experience.
We Should Definitely Have More Dancing explores the things that define us, that fill us up and make us who we are – a cautionary postcard stuffed full of heart and love and dancing. |
★★★★★ "you too can have the honour of witnessing the incredibly moving and insightful story"

"You notice really small, beautiful things about the world and I just feel so grateful that I'm still here. Not everyone gets that chance, you know.
So I guess the play is all about trying to pass that message on, trying to teach a bit of that wisdom of, try not to sweat the small stuff and just live for the here and now - and today."
