Friday 27 May, 7.30pm Tickets £27.50   Beyond the Barricade, the UK’s longest running musical theatre concert tour, features past principal performers from Les Misérables and delivers over two hours of the best of Broadway and the West End. Experience all the hits from The Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, The Lion King, Hamilton, Jesus Christ Superstar, Mamma Mia and many more, ending of course with a stunning finale from Les Mis. This brand new show will include many of the best numbers that have made Beyond the Barricade the most popular musical theatre concert in the country.   The concert features David Fawcett (Valjean), Andy Reiss (Enjolras & Resident Director for the National Tour of Les Misérables), Katie Leeming (Eponine) and Poppy Tierney (Cosette), together with a live band who capture the feel of the original orchestrations of the chosen musicals.   To this day every musical note is still played and sung live. Beyond the Barricade gives musical theatre songs a bold concert format treatment – but with the conviction and intention to deliver the material as if the audience are watching the original performance.

Keeping you safe at the Coliseum

 

 

The Government have announced that all legal Covid restrictions have ceased in England. However, the Coliseum is prioritising audience safety and we will still continue to have additional safety measures in place for the foreseeable future.     For the majority of our performances we will not be operating social distancing and instead have guidelines for how we plan to keep you safe and things you might want to consider on your visit to the Coliseum.   Before You Arrive   If you feel unwell or have been told to isolate please do not attend the Coliseum and contact us as quickly as possible by emailing boxoffice@coliseum.org.uk. You can return tickets up to 24 hours before a performance and receive a refund or exchange for these reasons. Within 24 hours of the performance you can exchange your tickets to credit.   During Your Visit   There are two main ways you can help us to ensure your visit to the Coliseum is as safe and enjoyable as possible. The first is to be kind and show respect to other audience members and the second is to not attend the Coliseum if you believe you are, or could be, infected with Covid-19. We strongly encourage you to wear a face covering at all times during your visit, unless you’re eating or drinking. If you are unable to wear a mask due to a medical condition, the Coliseum supports the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme. Our staff will be wearing masks at all times in the building for the safety of everyone. We’ve added extra house seats in some areas of the theatre, so if audiences feel uncomfortable during their visit they can be moved to a quieter section of the auditorium. Hand sanitising stations have been fixed around the venue. We have put plastic screens in place where applicable to reduce contact, and have special anti-bacterial stickers for touch points (eg. Door handles). Where possible, doors will be left open to minimise contact. We have increased our cleaning regime and all front of house areas, including touch points, will be rigorously cleaned before, during and after each performance. Thanks to Oldham Council, we have a working ventilation system, to ensure our Auditorium is as ventilated as possible. We ask you to maintain social distancing as far as possible in our Front of House areas such as bars, the foyer and toilets.   Throughout the two years that we have been living with Covid-19 in this country, it has become obvious that people have wildly different views as to what extent we should let the pandemic dictate our lives.
