 Last night was a truly magical evening as Katy Lipson of Aria Entertainment and Joseph Houston and William Whelton of Hope Mill Theatre, Manchester held AN EVENING WITH STEPHEN SCHWARTZ. This showcase highlighted the work of the multi-award-winning American lyricist and composer’s best loved repertoire including Schwartz’s first ever UK panel discussion about his life and work.

In a career that spans four decades, Schwartz has written such critically acclaimed shows as Wicked, Pippin and Godspell and contributed lyrics to the films Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame and songs for The Prince of Egypt. 
A group of talented actors and musicians performed the work with the maestro himself singing and playing his favourite songs. The sell-out show was a delight from start to finish not only demonstrating the talent of this amazing musician but also reminding us of the wealth of talent you can see at Hope Mill Theatre. Their next show is Rags currently under development at this award-winning theatre.

  Twelve Angry Men The Lowry, Salford Review by Natalie Anglesey   Following previous record-breaking West End seasons, and a critically acclaimed tour in 2023, Bill Kenwright Ltd’s powerful production of  Twelve Angry Men  is at  The Lowry  this week until   2 nd  March 2024. Ever since the powerful fifties film starring Henry Fonda, which was nominated three times for Academy Awards, and since then, several stage productions over the years, this splendid court-room drama has never failed to impress me. Now there’s the chance for you to see Reginald Rose’s knife-edge courtroom drama at The Lowry all this week. The cast is now headed by  Jason Merrells  ( Casualty, Emmerdale )  taking over the role of Juror 8 from Patrick Duffy for the 2024 tour. He subtly holds  the whole production together. The Osmond's new musical is coming to Manchester!  M y best friend was an avid Osmond fan in her teens and she still is.
