This reinvention, danced to Tchaikovsky's musical masterpiece, caused a sensation when it premiered almost 30 years ago and I was lucky to be there. Its impact was immediate and Bourne’s Swan Lake takes flight once more in this major revival. Thrilling, bold, witty and emotive, are only some of the adjectives already attributed to this genre-defining event which is still best known for replacing the female corps-de-ballet with a menacing male ensemble, which shattered convention.
