Dusty The Musical

Dusty The Musical

Fans of music legend Dusty Springfield will be delighted to learn that you'll be able to see this brand new stage musical soon at The Lowry in Salford. At the Manchester launch we raised a glass to the success of the new show and were entertained by musical star Katherine Kingsley who plays the iconic star.

Katherine is no stranger to theatre audiences and we've seen the award-winning star here in Manchester in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. She's looking forward to returning to the North-West and appearing at The Lowry. She entertained us with a couple of  Dusty's most popular hits and read on to hear for yourself by pressing the link.

Katherine was joined on stage by popular comedian turned actor Rufus Hound whom we saw here in One Man Two Guv'nors and Wind in the Willows. As well as RobertaTaylor, whom you'll recognise from EastEnders, who plays Dusty's mum. This new musical is written by award-winning Jonathan Harvey ( Beautiful Thing ) so  we are in for a treat!  An incredible playwright and novelist, he is still writing for Coronation Street and was, he tells me, responsible for writing both the male rape and suicide episodes which have captured the imagination of Corrie fans.

To read more about Dusty which will allow us a look into the private life of a music legend - keep tabs on this blog  in which both playwright and stars will talk openly about Dusty which you can book now at The Lowry July 24-28th
